A local authority is appealing to park users to not leave bread for ducks after a rat was seen at a town's park.
A rat was spotted by the duck pond in Brough Park recently by Post & Times reporter Belinda Hargreaves.
The creature was spotted coming out of the pond plants by the water feature and taking bread from the lawn area which had been left for the ducks.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Moorlands District Council said: "The council keeps the situation in Brough Park under review and our Pest Control Officers monitor it and take action as appropriate.
"We have recently checked the park and re-baited where necessary.
"Food for ducks does attract rats and we would ask people to be mindful of this and to try and avoid leaving bread and other food items lying around."
