STUDENTS have been donating early Christmas presents which will be handed out to deprived children.
As part of their Citizenship and PSHE programme this year, Years Seven to 11 students from Painsley Catholic College have been taking part in the Salvation Army Christmas Present Appeal. This appeal aims to collect presents to be distributed to children in the Stoke-on-Trent area who, otherwise, would not be receiving gifts this Christmas.
On Friday, November 29, during Act of Worship, Mandie Leighton and Major Neil Denyer from the Salvation Army came to promote the appeal to Year Seven pupils.
The students were inspired by the presentation and their response has been fantastic. Among the offerings were a scooter, teddy bears, dolls, puzzles and colouring books.
