A Cheadle man has been nominated for an award for designing an innovative disability adaptation

Comments (0) OLIVER Griffiths from Cheadle has been short-listed for a national award by deafblind charity Sense.

Oliver has been nominated for the category of "Innovation within Sense" for his specially designed foot rest for his brother, Daniel, who is deafblind with additional needs.

The foot rest allows Daniel to travel safely and comfortably in a minibus. Oliver, who is an engineer by trade, designed the foot rest so that it can be easily and safely locked down in the minibus when Daniel goes on a trip but can also be removed so that others can use the bus.

Oliver will find out if he has won at a special ceremony in London on September 30.
