LEEK CSOB face AFC Hanley Town away in a mouthwatering local derby in the North West Counties League First Division on Boxing Day.

Hanley have made an excellent start to their debut campaign in the higher tier, following their promotion from the Staffordshire County Senior League Premier Division.

The Potteries outfit were at one time top of the table but have since slipped down to fourth spot.

Hanley lost 4-2 away to second-placed 1874 Northwich on Saturday. It was Hanley's second defeat on the bounce, so they will be eager to return to winning ways against the Old Boys at their Abbey Lane ground on Thursday (3pm).

Fortunately for Hanley, the top two – Nelson and Atherton Collieries – both lost at the weekend.

The Old Boys found themselves out of action on Saturday after their scheduled home clash with Cheadle Town was called off because of a waterlogged Harrison Park pitch.
