A TOP education official has visited a school in Cheadle.
Last month, Painsley Catholic College were delighted to welcome Peter Lauener, Chief Executive and Accounting Officer for the Education Funding Agency (EFA) to their campus in Cheadle.
The EFA is an executive agency of the Department for Education responsible for distributing £52billion funding for three to 19-year-olds education and training, including funding individual academies, free schools and post-16 providers, as well as distributing funds to local authorities to pass on to maintained schools and delivering capital programmes.
Mr Lauener toured the college and interacted with the students.
Stephen Bell, Principal at Painsley, said: "It was a great honour to welcome Mr Lauener.
"He was very complimentary about Painsley and enjoyed touring the classrooms. He was asked some very intelligent and probing questions by the School Councillors who were very impressed with his replies.
"Mr Lauener also met Michael Wheatley, Principal of St Filumena’s Catholic Primary School in Caverswall – one of the seven schools in the Painsley Catholic Academy; and Mr John Pennington, the Chair of Directors.
"We are all very grateful to Mr Lauener for visiting Painsley – he is a true gentleman and was wonderful with the students and staff."
