Waterhouses Park Rangers 2 Bradwell 0

RANGERS started brightly and didn't show any evidence of having a five-week break due to the recent weather.

They were the dominant team for most of the first half and almost opened the scoring in the first few minutes, when a goalmouth scramble saw Jake Whiston fire just wide.

Rangers got the goal they deserved when Jack Shepherdson went on a solo run and placed the ball around the keeper.

The better chances fell to Waterhouses and Whiston went close on a couple of occasions. A Kai Wells shot direct from a free kick was well saved.

Bradwell started to get into the game and Rangers keeper Jason Leach had to smartly save a cross.

The second half saw Bradwell enjoy the better possession for an extended period during which they went close on several occasions.

A free kick forced Leach into two saves and the loose ball was fired over the bar. From an excellent save by Leach, Bradwell had a powerful shot that was cleared off the line by Ben Venables.

Rhys Sale went on a trademark surging run which saw him upended in the penalty area. George Burns, having arguably his best game of the season, fired home from the resultant spot kick to extend Rangers lead.

With almost the last kick of the match, Bradwell almost got a consolation goal but Leach pulled off a good save to maintain the clean sheet.
