CHECKLEY skipper Michael Allen led by example on top scoring for his side in a seven-wicket victory at Porthill Park.
Allen scored an unbeaten 47 and received good support from Amer Siddique (40), as the visitors coasted to their second win of the season.
Porthill never truly recovered from being 28-4, although Louis Allen (29)and Nick Atkinson (21no) helped them to 119 all out.
Three wickets apiece from Kyle Mellis (3-11) and Richard Cooper (3-30) inflicted the bulk of the damage on the hosts.
Rao Ifthikar Anjum responded with 3-36, but Checkley were not really troubled making their reply, with Allen comfortable at the helm.
Checkley 2nds were not in such good form in the corresponding Premier Division B encounter with Porthill at Four Trees.
Porthill recovered from a poor start, which saw them 63-4, to amass 215-6.
Matthew Mason (57), Josh Butler (42) and Faizan Zaroof (42) put the visitors firmly back on course.
Checkley never got going in reply and were eventually dismissed for 143.
Matt Farr (4-24) and Joshua Ellams (3-34) were the principal contributors to the downfall of their hosts.
