ASHCOMBE Park's home game against current division one leaders Moddershall was finally abandoned after four hours of attempts to play between heavy showers had produced just 11 overs of cricket.

The match got under way almost 90 minutes late but the first of several further stoppages came after only seven minutes.

Three more times the players took to the field with the last attempt lasting only one ball before more rain washed them off again and finally both captains and the umpires agreed it was impossible to continue.
