IPSTONES Agricultural Queen, Lydia Cartwright, is staging a grocery bingo night this Friday (October 18) as part of her fundraising year.

The event will be held at Ipstones Memorial Hall with eyes down at 8pm. Refreshments will be available during the interval and everyone is invited to attend.

LEEK Citizens Advice Bureau Trustee board is holding its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, October 23, at 5pm at Bank House, St Edward Street in Leek. All members of the public are welcome. Anyone wishing to be a trustee can come along on the night or contact chairman Keith Hoptroff on 01538 372565 or the bureau manager Michelle Stonier on 01538 373068.

A CAKE sale in aid of charity will be staged at a business in Leek this weekend. Staff at the Pit Stop in Russell Street, Leek will be baking this week and offering their culinary home-made delights to customers on Saturday (October 19). The Breakthrough Breast Cancer Cake Sale will take place between 10am and 2pm.

SOUTH African grapes will be the focus for the next wine tasting evening to be hosted by a Leek business. James Molden, from The Wine Shop in Russell Street, Leek, will be at the Silken Strand Hotel in St Edward Street on Thursday, October 31 with a selection of nine wines. Tickets for the South African Wine Tasting, which are priced at £15 per person, are available to buy from the Wine Shop. Food, which will be served between the whites and the reds, will be provided by The Silken Strand.

A FESTIVE themed bingo night is being staged at a Leek school next week. The Christmas Bingo will take place at Beresford Memorial First School in Novi Lane, Leek on Tuesday (October 22). Doors open at 3.30pm with be eyes down at 4pm. All welcome.

THE Post & Times will, once again, be putting together a special Christmas Magazine covering Leek, Cheadle and the Staffordshire Moorlands. This year we will be including a page of festive poems produced by local creative children. If your child wishes to submit a poem for consideration, please email their poem to Belinda Hargreaves at belinda.hargreaves@thepos tandtimes.co.uk along with the child's full name, age, address (full address will not be used in the publication), the school they attend, along with a recent photograph of them (photos will be used alongside poems - subject to space).
