Haregate Community Queen and her retinue invite you to walk with them and get sponsors to help them raise money for their chosen charity Love4Leah on Thursday, August 21, at 10am. They will be walking to Tittesworth Reservoir through the fields and when you are there all those who have been sponsored and raised some money will be met and given a free picnic lunch and drink. Adults, children and dogs are all welcome and the child to raise the most sponsorship money will receive a prize. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult and dogs must be kept on a lead and cleaned up after . For information and sponsor forms call Heather on 07849 776587.

An annual trip to see Blackpool Illuminations is taking place on October 25. Pick up is 9.30am from Ball Haye Green Recreation ground, The Priory, Birches Gardens and the top of the Market Place in Leek. Cost is £15 per adult and £10 per child. For details contact Heather on 07849 776587.

Haregate Community Queen's Annual Dog Show is taking place on August 31 starting at 1pm. There are 10 classes such as prettiest bitch, most handsome dog and cutest puppy. Prizes to be won include rosettes and treats and an overall trophy winner, plus runner up. Booking from 12pm onwards. For information please contact Heather 07849 776587.

Jewellery, gift card and cupcake making sessions are taking place on Friday 29th August at Haregate Community Centre from 1:30pm to 4:30pm. Something to suit all ages. Staff at Morrisons in Newcastle Road, Leek, are taking part in a Leek to London exercise bike challenge on Friday, August 22, from 9am onwards. All proceeds will go to the store's chosen charity Sue Ryder.

The duty pharmacy for Leek for the August Bank Holiday Monday, August 25, will be Sainsbury's in Macclesfield Road, Leek, which is open from 11am to 4pm.

A coffee morning is to be held in Whiston on Monday September 1. The event will take place at St Mildred's Church between 10am and 12pm. There will be teas, cakes and a raffle available for visitors.
