A NEW monthly acoustic session has started in the Staffordshire Moorlands.
The music slots, which started at the weekend, are being staged at The Roebuck in Derby Street, Leek, every Sunday.
Entitled 'Live in the Lounge', the music starts at 7pm and the organisers are offering musicians of any style and level of experience the opportunity to perform.
Local musician JP Parsons, who has helped set up the new monthly music sessions, said: "This will be a night that welcomes all forms of entertainment. There will be a headline act on stage at 9.30pm."
Venn Goodwin, a singer and songwriter, was the first to kick-off the new sessions at The Roebuck on Sunday.
JP added: "As well as singers and musicians we also welcome poets, story tellers and stand up comedians to take the microphone.
"The Roebuck is extremely keen to carry on promoting local live music and talent in Leek after such a successful summer season and we hope that these nights will inspire and discover fresh new talent from Leek and the surrounding areas, as well as entertaining customers in a laid back and relaxed environment."
