A VILLAGE public house has launched it's first ever own-brand beer.

The Jervis Arms in Onecote has taken stock of the first batch of 'Mixon Grange' - a beer which landlord Peter Hill has chosen the recipe for.

The four percent beer was brewed at Tower Brewery in Burton and pub-goers were able to sample the blonde ale for the first time over the weekend.

Peter explained: "We will soon be brewing our own beer at Mixon Grange Farm in Onecote after gaining planning permission for a micro brewery.

"But for now Tower Brewery have produced 18 nine gallons of Mixon Blonde. We are initially selling it just at our pub but will soon be selling it to other public houses.
