New and interesting artwork is now on show at a quirky coffee shop in Leek.
The latest creations by artist Lauren Van Helmond has recently been hung at Spout Coffee Shop in St Edward Street, Leek.
Over the last decade Lauren, who resides in Newcastle-under-Lyme, has combined a background in Fine Art, Design Crafts and Illustration, to refine her artistic skills.
The creation of intricate depictions of British life showcase this multi disciplinary experience, resulting in fanciful characters created in wire, pegs, washers, old biscuit tins and found objects.
Focusing on British pastimes including gardening, drinking tea, day trips and hobbies, narrative worlds are created in her work which present the audience with a humorous viewpoint.
Miniscule objects are fabricated by cutting, folding and soldering tin and wire. These hand painted objects are assembled and displayed within the confines of either a box frame or glass dome.
Hand pulled, limited edition screen prints complete this collection of work, focussing on the British fondness for dogs.
Spout Coffee Shop, which has on display a wide range of artists' work, offers freshly ground Monmouth coffee and homemade cakes. They also supply Teapig's speciality tea and Misco's luxury Hot Chocolate.
Food is available Tuesday to Saturday, all day, and there is a good range of vegetarian options and some dairy and wheat free options too.
The venue offers free wi-fi and children are very welcome (lots of nice toys to play with) and the coffee shop is also dog friendly.
