A TALENTED young musician will be performing the first concert of 2014 for a village arts society.

Fortepianist Kristian Bezuidenhout, pictured, is to give the first concert of the New Year at Abbotsholme School, near Uttoxeter, on Tuesday (January 21) at 8pm.

He will be playing a programme of Mozart sonatas and the Fantasia in C Minor.

Kristian is a young artist who has already achieved a world-wide reputation as one of the finest exponents of the fortepiano.

Aged 21, he won first prize at the Bruges Fortepiano Competition. As well as giving solo recitals he has played with many of the world's leading orchestras including the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.

He records with Harmonia Mundi.
