Morris Dancers to take part in folk event at The Foxlowe Arts Centre

Morris dancers will be showcasing their talents at a folk day in Leek this weekend.

Leek Morris is a small group founded by Joan Whilock five years ago. The energetic crew have been seen out and about in Leek at various clubs and summer fetes.

Their next appearance will be at the Folk Day at the Foxlowe Arts Centre this Saturday (May 10).

Morris dancer Sue Mckee said: "We will be out performing both out in the street and at the Foxlowe with other invited Morris sides as part of Leek Arts Festival.

"Our emphasis is on having a good time and we welcome dancers of all ages and abilities.

"On the other hand if you don't fancy dancing but can play a musical instrument of some kind we would love you to come along and help us make a big sound when we dance out in public."

Leek Morris meet at 2nd Leek Scout Headquarters on Clerk Bank in Leek for practice sessions.
