MP’s expenses were £170,000

WE have been asked to point out by Stone MP Bill Cash, whose area covers Cheadle and surrounding villages, that his expenses for the last financial year were £170,617.66.

 

Mr Cash claimed £16,652.71 for his constituency office; £23,966.69 for accommodation; £8,762.70 for travel and subsistence; £6,677 on staffing expenses and £114,558.56 on the staffing payroll.

On top of this Mr Cash received the basic MP's salary of £65,738 plus £14,582.04 as a committee chairman making the total cost for his work as a MP for the constituency to just over £250,000.

Mr Cash told the Post & Times: "My expenditure is for reasonable costs incurred in carrying out my parliamentary duties in order to assist me in my work representing my constituents at Westminster."
