MEMBERS of the Staffordshire Youth Action Kouncil were given an opportunity to grill their local MEP recently as they met with Philip Bradbourn in Stafford. They asked Mr. Bradbourn about his role in the European Parliament and raised a number of issues.

Youth unemployment is a key issue and participants were keen to hear more about Youth opportunities in the EU. At the meeting, Mr. Bradbourn also highlighted a number of programmes instigated by the UK in the budget round to increase resources to counter Youth Unemployment in the EU. They also discussed the importance of EU to the local economy and rural development.

Speaking after the event Mr. Bradbourn said: “I was delighted to attend this event and I applaud the Staffordshire Youth Action Kouncil for taking part. As politicians we have a duty to encourage young people to take an interest in politics as so many issues affect them.”
