It's not often that I write a letter to the editor, unless of course it concerns defenseless animals.
But with regard to the letter published in the July 9th edition, I couldn't help but feel the need to reply to a Mrs S Iwanicki's comments.
Being a responsible cat owner and lover I can't believe what utter rubbish she speaks.
Just because a cat wanders onto another person's property, neither makes their owner irresponsible or makes them pretend to love their animals.
I have three ginger cats, who were brought up on a litter tray, and I have a cat flap in my door and they always do their dirt on my property and bury it.
But cats are getting the blame. when it's not always them that do this.
Fox dirt smells, and damages plants. I've never in my life witnessed any cat destroying plants; only when they have lay in the sun, which we get very little of this.
I was reared with as many as 13 cats when I was small and no-one ever felt they should write such utter nonsense. Judith Porter, Cheadle
