I am pleased to see Leek's library holding its exhibition of WW1 local history, and personal testimony reminders of events, and the true stories revealed. Those old memorabilia speak across time of that era, and of the cost of lives... the true human story of war. For Human Valour and Human cost - vast in so many lost! Yet Valour drew them our soldiers. So many individual stories from that great – terrible – war that impacts and touches us too ... through the generations and families -all are one in humanity united. Every life counted and every memory and commemoration counts still! For they who went before us into true hell of war – must be remembered for why they gave their lives; to defend liberty, to save, and stop tyranny – giving us now, and a future.. Soldiers of light in the dark of history – whose lives we must remember into infinity – in hope for peace to come... They fought and died for this! Never forget their valour.
