FREE legal advice clinics are being offered by Bowcock & Pursaill to celebrate the launch of its ‘Lend A Legal Hand Fixed Fee’ service.

Anyone who is going through a separation and is looking for legal advice, or needs help with a family or matrimonial issue, is invited to book in for a free 30 minute consultation with solicitor Lisa Cogger, who specialises in Family Law.

The advice clinics will be held at the firm's offices in St Edward Street, Leek, and Festival Park, Hanley.

The Lend A Legal Hand Fixed Fee service is in response to changes in Legal Aid this year, which brought an end to Government funding towards legal costs for low income families.

Lisa said: “With the end of Legal Aid we want to make sure legal advice remains accessible for people who need it.

“Offering our Lend A Legal Hand Fixed Fee service means you know from the moment you walk through the door what the costs are.

“The service you will receive is exactly the same high standard service we deliver to all of our clients. Everyone has a right to legal representation that is affordable, and going through a separation is stressful enough.

“We try and take some of that pressure away by dealing with the legal documentation and ensuring it’s completed correctly and/or representing you in family proceedings, as an aim to make the whole process easier.” And it is not just couples who are ending a relationship who may need Lisa’s advice.

She said: “I can also advise couples who wish to protect their assets and agree from the outset how those assets will be divided fairly in the event of a divorce or separation, such as pre-nuptial agreements, or if they're moving in together, or buying a new property, then matters such as a cohabitation agreement or a declaration of trust are advisable.”

Anyone interested in taking up a free 30 minute advice slot with Lisa will need to book in as appointments are limited. The clinic in Leek will be open on Thursday, September 26, from 5pm until 6.30pm. To book a slot call 01538 399199.
