LEEK Swimming Club members travelled to Buxton for a gala on one of the coldest nights of the year.
Swimmers Hannah Underwood and Lily Kirk were making their club debuts.
Personal best times for their age groups were achieved by: Coby Capper (25m butterfly), Jensen Hulbert (50m freestyle and 50m backstroke), Eden Schiller (25m butterfly), Alesia Sollaku (100m individual medley), Leo Taylor (50m breaststroke), Emelia Tomkinson (50m freestyle) and Niall Wilson-Jones (50m backstroke and 25m butterfly).
Other team members were Edward and Mandy Chen, Ariana Bendall, Harley Capper, Poppy Hinton, Abbie Hulbert, Flora Kanan, Sam Reynolds, Abbie Fryer-Winder, Eden Schiller, James Yates and Samuel Yates.
This was a gala held mainly for young (under 12 years) and/or inexperienced swimmers.
Four other swimming clubs took part and the competition was fierce, with many close finishes.
Leek emerged as the winners with a fine score of 257 points, followed by Hazel Grove on 216, City of Derby on 206, Buxton on 157 and Cheadle with 148.
