A federation of three schools is now beginning to train teachers in-house.

Following a successful pilot, the Leek Federation's Teacher Training Programme will be up and running at the start of the next academic year, in September.

Westwood College, Leek High School and Churnet View Middle School is collectively, as a hard federation of schools, now offering, in partnership with Staffordshire University, courses in a variety of subjects and a variety of phases.

Director of the Leek Federation's Sixth Form, Dan Owen, pictured above, said: "The courses are for those doing their teaching degrees and needing to carry out their teacher training.
