ALEX Mellor, pictured, scored a century for defending champions Leek in their crushing defeat of Little Stoke in the North Staffordshire and South Cheshire League at Highfield on Saturday.
Mellor's 101, which included 13 boundaries, was the cornerstone of Leek's 213-6.
Club professional Nadeem Malik provided valuable support with 42. Dan Richardson, Peter Turnbull and Tom Steele shared the wickets.
Little Stoke folded in reply, despite the best efforts of Richardson (30). The visitors could only muster 84 all out against the South African accurate bowling of spinner Jean Rossouw (3-11) and Staffordshire paceman Greg Willott (3-24).
Leek 2nd XI moved up into second spot in Division Two B after collecting 25 points from their victory over Newcastle & Hartshill.
