The WeightWatchers classes held at Biddulph, Leek, Tunstall, Longton, Basford and Hanley scooped one of the top awards in the Classes For You competition, run by Britain’s biggest parenting site Netmums.

The UK-wide competition was launched as a chance for people running adult classes to be recognized for their hard work serving and improving the local community.

Over 1.7 million members were eligible to vote in the competition.

Class organiser Rachael Smith was delighted to be crowned a local favourite. The leader Rachael Smith from Longton, set up the class, as WeightWatchers made such a change to her life that she wanted to help others

Beaming Rachael aged 35 said: “I'm over the moon to win such a fabulous award! It's great to see that others love my meetings as much as I do!

The WeightWatchers class will now be honoured with a coveted gold listing on the Netmums site, used by over a million people each week, along with a special ‘Netmums Favourite’ certificate to display in their class.
