A RURAL school is to stage an open day next week to show prospective parents the facilities it can offer.
St Bartholomew’s C. E. Primary School in Longnor, which includes a nursery and preschool, will be open to visitors on Wednesday, March 13, between 9am and 3.15pm.
The small rural school currently caters for children from the ages of three to nine, with a foundation/ nursery for the three to five-year-olds.
Provision is complemented by Little Hedgehogs playgroup which caters for children from 18 months which ensure individual attention.
The latest Ofsted report for the school said: “The school provides an atmosphere where achievement is valued and celebrated and all staff work effectively as a team. Close and accurate tracking of pupils’ progress informs school improvement planning well.
“The school’s focus on the needs of individuals and its work with other schools in the area demonstrate its strong commitment to promoting equality of opportunity.
“The school also offers dedicated music tuition, swimming lesons, specialist P.E.
High quality science lessons – the school has been awarded the Silver Primary Science Quality Mark – and a comprehensive outdoor education programme delivered through an exciting topic driven curriculum.
