A WEDDING photographer from the Staffordshire Moorlands has won a prestigious national award.
Beverley Foster, who runs David and Beverley Foster Photography with her husband David, received the National Wedding Photographer of the Year Award at the Guild of Photographer's Presentation Evening, which was held in February.
Beverley, who lives in Moorfields, Leek, started her career in the fashion industry, designing in London as well as the Midlands.
Beverley’s approach to photography is passionate and thoughtful.
She said: “Everyone is different and photography is very subjective, so I make sure that I know exactly what each client is looking for before I set out to cover the event.” One of the ways Beverley’s business has evolved over the years has been to incorporate both style changes and the service offered to clients.
Former Westwood High School pupil Beverley said: “Shooting informal, reportage-style wedding photography together with beautiful wedding images and group shots, gives my wedding clients a chance to really capture the atmosphere of their wedding day.
“Capturing the fun and laughter and emotion of a wedding is very important to me. It’s telling a story of the day and making sure the photographs reflect how you want your day to be remembered.” Beverley, who has been in the photography business for 20 years, added: “I am proud to have won the award, which is judged by some of the best international judges in their field.
“I have worked very hard for many years perfecting my photography skills both with digital photography and editing skills, and am very happy to have been voted the best wedding photographer in the UK during 2012 by the guild.
“I could not have achieved this with out so many brides and grooms putting their faith in me by asking me to cover their very special day.” The Guild of Photographers, which was established in 1988, is a highly respected association that supports photographers committed to high standards, and is seen by many as a ‘Mark of Trust’.
The guild’s director Steve Thirsk said: “Beverley Foster is clearly a very talented photographer fully deserving of her accolade.”
