Hamza's son convicted of store raid

The son of Muslim cleric Abu Hamza has been found guilty of carrying out an armed robbery on a jewellers.

Imran Mostafa, 20, of Deverills Way, Slough, who it emerged is the son of the controversial preacher, had denied robbery and possessing a firearm with intent to commit an offence along with 17-year-old Jonathon Abdul from London.

But the men were convicted at Norwich Crown Court after five hours of jury deliberations, a court spokesman said.

The raid happened at the Francis Wain store in King's Lynn on January 31. Gems worth £83,000 were stolen in the smash and grab raid.

The men will both be sentenced on a future date alongside Ossama Hamed, 19, of Greswell Street in Fulham and Ahmed Ahmed, 20, of Nag's Head Road in Enfield, who had previously admitted the same charges.

Judge Peter Jacobs had ordered that details of Mostafa's parentage should be the subject of a contempt of court order until the jury had reached a verdict.

Another of Hamza's sons, Yasser Kamel, 20, was jailed for 12 months in 2010 after admitting violent disorder during anti-Israel riots in London.
