Get ready for fund-raising walk

Written byLeslie Jackson

PEOPLE have been urged to get out their walking boots ready for the annual Christian Aid Walk, which takes place at Tittesworth Reservoir later this month.

The event, which last year attracted more than 500 walkers, raised £51,840 for Christian Aid, which supports poor people all over the world.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday, March 23. Registration will be from 9.15am onwards with a 10pm start. Walkers will again have the choice of a two or five-mile route.

Over the last eight years the walk at Tittesworth has raised more than £400,000.

Walkers taking part will be given a car parking sticker which enables them to stay free of charge at the venue.

There will also be Easter eggs for people taking part in fancy dress and for women wearing Easter bonnets.

Sponsor forms are available from local churches and from John Bamford on 01782 516137.
