Biker taken to hospital after crash

A MOTORCYCLIST was involved in a road traffic collision in Leek last week.

The incident involved a car and amotorcycle on the junction of Buxton and Springfield roads in Leek, on Friday.

A spokesman for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We had an ambulance and a responder paramedic at the scene.

“We conveyed the male bike rider, who was in his 30s, to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.” He added: “He had pain in his neck, back, hip and leg.” A police spokesman said: “We were called to the incident by colleagues from the ambulance service, at 2.10pm.

“They alerted us to a road traffic collision which had happened on Buxton Road at its junction with Springfield Road.

“A black Volkswagen Polo and an orange and black Hyosung motorbike were involved in the collision.

“The male rider of the motorcycle was taken to hospital with injuries believed not to be life threatening and his bike was recovered from the scene.”

He added: “Patrols stayed at the scene until 3.30pm.”
