THE line-up for this year’s Alton Towers Live concert has been announced – and it includes some of the UKs biggest artists.
Olly Murs, Rizzle Kicks, Labrinth, Little Mix, Conor Maynard, James Arthur, Stooshe and Union J are set to take to the stage as Alton Towers Live presents a rollercoaster line-up of the hottest acts, alongside adrenalin-pumping rides, on Saturday, July 6.
Tickets went on sale at 9am on Friday, March 1, through www.aeglive.co.uk and with prices starting from just £55, fans not only get access to see the spectacular musical line-up of British home-grown talent, but also entry to the Alton Towers theme park offering attractions and thrill rides for the whole family.
This includes the new world first rollercoaster, The Smiler, before enjoying the star-studded musical extravaganza set on the theme park’s front lawns with the famous Towers as the backdrop.
Opening in May, The Smiler is Alton Towers Resort’s biggest ever ride, and will combine plunging drops and extreme turns with twisted psychological effects.
Construction of the new £18 million roller coaster at Alton Towers Resort began in early 2012 with the removal of the Black Hole tent structure.
Some 800 lorries, each carrying 20 tonnes of soil, removed earth from the site.
In late 2012, sections of the 700 tonne roller coaster structure were delivered to the site, before being pieced together, section by section – like a giant 3D jigsaw.
The ride, located in X-Sector, has a ride time of 165 seconds, accommodates 16 passengers per ride train, has a minimum rider height of 1.4 metres, its highest drop is 30 metres, has a maximum speed of approximately 85 km/h and a track length of 1,170 metres.
With five 2013 Brit Award Nominations between them the Alton Towers Live line-up includes heart-throb Olly Murs and fun loving duo Rizzle Kicks, who recently topped the charts together with ‘Heart Skipped A Beat’.
Chart sensation and one of the most innovative pop stars and producers around, Labrinth, also takes the stage alongside X Factor darlings and chart toppers Little Mix.
Pop sensation and ‘Turn Around’ star Conor Maynard joins the bill with phenomenal three-piece R&B trio Stooshe providing the street-smart glamour.
Fresh from his X Factor win and million selling Number 1 single ‘Impossible’, singer James Arthur also tops the bill with fan favourites Union J.
From Oblivion to Olly Murs, Ripsaw to Rizzle Kicks, Alton Towers Live will be the ultimate summer’s day out.
