THE LEEK pro-am tournament has returned to the Birchall course after an absence of two years.
Three golfers teamed up with a professional for a team prize, while the pros competed for an individual prize. The prize fund for this year's event totalled just over £5,000.
The event was contested by 43 teams, making it the biggest pro-am event the Midlands PGA has held this year.
The winning team consisted of Dave Robinson, Pete Nixon, Neil Shenton and Andrew Jones (professional) with a score of 15 under par.
Jones posted a gross 68 (two under par) which at the time put him into the clubhouse lead – but he was eventually overhauled by Ian Walley, from Kedleston Park, with a score of 66 (four under par) to pick up a cheque for £850.
Walley's amateur team comprised Lincoln Boulton, Michael Barker and Mick Matthews. Their combined score of 11 under was good enough to take second place.
