DILHORNE Ladies have won the Sentinel Birks Trophy for the third successive year.

They dropped only 17 chalks in beating Fegg Hayes 130-91 in the final at Oakhill.

It was the sixth trophy success of the season for the Moorlands club’s ladies section.

The ladies had previously won the Staffordshire League Division One title, the Nancy Boulton competition, the Sentinel Foden Doubles, the Dorothy Pierce Memorial Doubles and the May Smith Round Peg competition.

Dilhorne captain Pam Aston said: “We have played exceptionally well this year, which is tremendous as we are celebrating the club’s 75th anniversary. This is the best team we have ever had. In Stacey Brown and Laura Hamer, we have two of the best young bowlers around, and every player is a county representative.” RESULTS Little Stoke 179 Leek Park A 160 Scores: R Alcock 13-21; E Alcock 21-17; M Perkin 21- 17; J Flavell 16-21; R Green 6-21; N Heath 21-4; J Plant 21-15; K Holdway 11-21; D Scragg 19-21; I Dickin 11-21.
