Leek CSOB Ladies 2

North Staffs YMCA Ladies 1

LEEK CSOB Ladies had a good excuse for a big end-of-year celebration after they chalked up their first win the season.

It came courtesy of a goal in each half as all of their hard work and determination finally paid off.

Laura Emery headed Leek in front after 25 minutes, much to the delight of her team-mates.

Hanley had little to offer in reply, with Leek goalkeeper Becky Bloor a somewhat frozen onlooker.

The Leek ladies looked in great form, clearly benefiting from the coaching given at training sessions.

Not long into the second half, Sam Lindop scored her side's other goal with a long-range effort which caught the Hanley goalkeeper off her line.

This goal instilled even more confidence into the Leek team, as they ran out comfortable winners.
