A WERRINGTON councillor has donated funds to buy a slow cooker and also for the portable appliance testing of equipment to be undertaken at the village Methodist church.
Councillor Lisa Martin donated the money at the last service conducted by the Deacon at Werrington Methodist Church, Sister Barbara Crockett, who is retiring.
Mrs Martin said: "I have given a donation to the church from my councillor's Community Initiative Fund when I attended the last service conducted by Sister Barbara Crockett.
"Sister Barbara is very special to me and I would like to thank her for her work in Werrington."
She added: "She will be missed, but we wish her well in her retirement."
