A LEEK woman has enjoyed her Christmas by being able to participate in her daughter's activities more after shedding almost four stones in weight.

On March 25, 2013, Aimee Dale, aged 30, took the decision to join the Monday night Slimming World group at Moorlands House, Leek.

At the time Aimee weighed 13 stones 8lbs and was size 16 to 18.

Today she weighs in at nine stones 12lbs with a dress size of between eight and 10.

Aimee said: "I have a young daughter who wanted me to be more active with her.

"I also wanted to be able to participate in more activities with her, but I could not afford to go to the gym so I decided to go to the slimming group in the town.

"I was not happy with my size and it gets to the point where you need to do something.

"I now have so much more energy, but I can't get used to going into shops looking for dress sizes of between eight and 10.

"I lost five-and-a-half pounds in my first week, so this made me determined to carry on.

"It got even better over Christmas when someone asked if my husband had got a new girlfriend as my weight loss has completely changed me.

"What has surprised me is that you can still eat so many things.

"My husband and the Slimming World consultant Jo Steele have been so supportive throughout the last few month.

"I really enjoy cooking, so I have bought new recipe books."

Aimee's six-year-old daughter, Lillie, said her mum looked "ace".

Lillie said: "She can now play with me more and she also runs with me, which I like."

Aimee, who works in the kitchen of a residential care home in Leek added: "My husband can't believe the difference in me after only a few months of determination. The loss of weight has also been good for my daughter."

Slimming World consultant, Jo Steele, who runs two groups in the town, said Aimee had changed her life in a matter of a few months.

She said: "To see a before and after picture is remarkable. I see people week in and week out, but until you see the pictures of yourself do not realise the difference.

"What Aimee has done is brilliant. She looks much younger. The lose of weight does really help people.

"Aimee was so determined to succeed and lost a lot of weight in a relatively short period of time."
