PLANS to demolish a house and replace it with a larger dwelling in a rural village have been refused.
The application sparked protests at the November meeting of Kingsley Parish Council when several residents attended objecting to proposals to demolish the existing property and erect a replacement dwelling at Hackwood Lodge, Hollins Lane, Kingsley.
Parishioners stated that the proposal was too large, overbearing and out of scale in a Special Landscape Area. Also it was taller than the present one and four times bigger in volume.
Following a debate parish councillors unanimously agreed to write a letter objecting to the proposals.
Now planning officers at Staffordshire Moorlands District Council have announced that they have refused the application.
