Hartington school makes a splash for charity

PUPILS and parents from Hartington Primary School have helped to raise more than £1,500 for the British Heart Foundation.

The school was joined by members of Hartington Young People's Activity Club (HYPAC) in assisting the school's ex-chairman of governors, John Dean, in raising £1,568.by participating in a celebration sponsored swim.

The event was held at The Arc Leisure Centre in Matlock.

Sophie Jardine from the British Heart Foundation presented the participants with certificates and shields thanking them for their efforts and achievement.

Liz Broomhead MBE received the award on behalf of HYPAC, while John Dean and Maddie Wager received the award on behalf of Hartington Primary School.
