A VILLAGE school has planted more than 100 trees around its new car park.

Pupils from The Faber Catholic Primary School in Cotton have been joined by one of the granddads, Dennis Cope, in the planting of the trees which have been received from The Woodlands Trust.

It was agreed that labels be written and placed on the trees, which they hope will thrive and they will be able to see them growing over the months, years and decades to come.

Headteacher Alexandra Beardmore said: "The children really enjoyed planting them and thinking about how they will grow, and how they will be able to come back when they are adults to see the trees fully grown."
