THE annual Christian Aid walk around Tittesworth Reservoir is to take place on Saturday April 5.

The event attracts hundreds of walkers and raises more than £50,000.

However, last year the walk had to be cancelled due to snow blanketing the Moorlands area. Due to it being impossible to organise another day, people were asked to organise their own walks. This resulted in £42,000 being raised.

Registration for this year's walk will take place from 9.15am and the official walk will start a 10am.

There will again be a choice of either a two or five-mile walk. Organiser John Bamford said: "The walk is one of Christian Aid's most successful annual events. Donations and promises of financial support have already been made to cover this year's expenses, so every penny collected in sponsorship will go directly to Christian Aid."
