CHOIRS from a number of schools from right across the Staffordshire Moorlands performed at Douglas Macmillan Hospice’s Light up a Life in the Community event at the Britannia Stadium this weekend.

Pupils from All Saints CE Primary School, Churnet View County Middle School and St Edwards CE First School all belted out various uplifting songs to over 3,000 supporters at Stoke City’s ground on Sunday 15th December.

Light up a Life in the Community is a new branch of the Hospice’s annual remembrance campaign, having already held a traditional ceremony earlier in December at Stoke Minster.

Supporters who donate to Light up a Life will have a light dedicated on the Hospice’s Christmas tree in memory of their loved one which will shine until the twelfth night.

Liz Clarke, Head of Fundraising said: "I would like to thank all who participated and attended the event and helped to make it so successful.

"All funds raised will enable us to continue to provide the highest care to local people facing a life-limiting illness."

There is still time to donate to the Light up a Life campaign by visiting www.dougiemacevents.co.uk
