VOLUNTEERS at a heritage railway are gearing up to scare visitors this forthcoming Halloween Dare your travel through the 'Valley of the Dead' at the Churnet Valley Railway's Ghost Train Event on Saturday, October 26? There will be an evening of Harem and Scarem as visitors to the railway are invited to journey in to the unknown along the dark and mysterious 'Valley of the Dead'.

The Churnet Valley Railway ghost trains will be in operation from 6pm from both Kingsley and Froghall Station and Cheddleton Station where all manner of scary activities will be found for all the family.

Travel through the infamous Leekbrook Tunnel, enter Dracula's Lair at Froghall or boogie to live music at Cheddleton provided by the Leeky Monster band.

There is also children's make and take activities, barbecue, Chilli Crypt, outside bars, the Bride's of Dracula's Cocktail Bar, mini funfair rides and much more.

co.uk Bookings are also now being taken for the ever popular Santa and Steam event at Churnet Valley Railway which runs throughout December, plus the Festive Dining Evenings on December 14 and 21, and the Festive Supper Trains on December 4 and 11. And for that special gift, the venue is now selling gift vouchers for a variety of activities from Drive a Steam Engine Courses, Wine and Dine excursions, Cream tea occasions or Evening Supper Trains.
