Woman charged over daughter's death
A woman has been charged with causing or allowing the death of her three-year-old daughter.
Lia Green was feeling unwell on August 30 and was taken by paramedics from her home in Norris Street, Preston, Lancashire, to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
A post-mortem examination carried out by a Home Office pathologist showed she died as a result of significant violence which caused serious injuries to her internal organs.
Her father, Richard Green, 22, was charged in October with her murder and later remanded in custody. He is due to attend a plea and case management hearing at Preston Crown Court on January 14.
Lia's mother, Natalie Critchley, 21, was due to appear before Preston magistrates where the case was expected to be committed to Preston Crown Court.
Lancashire Police said a 22-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice has been released from his bail and will face no further action.
