Built by Bess of Hardwick in the late 16th century, Hardwick Hall is one of the most splendid medieval houses in England and remains almost unaltered since it was originally built, offering a wonderful architectural experience. Costumed craftsmen will be on hand throughout the day to demonstrate their heritage craft skills.

Saturday, September 14 garden and facilities, 9am to 6pm; house, noon to 4.30pm
