A community interest company is hosting a 'Big Lunch' event today.

Enabling Living Independently, Today and Everyday (ELITE), which is a Community Interest Company that covers the whole of North Staffordshire, will be holding a Community Fun Day at Haregate Community Centre in Leek. It takes place today, Wednesday, July 23, from 11.30am until 4pm.

ELITE is a 'user-led' organisation which works to eliminate the barriers that prevent disabled people from living full and independent lives.

The event will include a tombola, raffle, cupcakes and shakes, jewellery sale, arts and crafts among various other activities throughout the day.

Funds raised will go towards developing and supporting ELITE clients' activities, enabling them to meet new people.

The organisation also offers friendly and confidential support to the elderly, less able, disabled people and their carers.

ELITE is also appealing for supporters to use an online method to help raise funds for a new minibus.

This will be used to take the group's clients out on day trips.

To help, go to www.easyfundraising.com.

When there search for ELITE in the organisations which are signed up for the scheme.
