Not Going Out – Christmas Eve, 10pm, BBC1 T'S the usual tale of good intentions gone horribly wrong in the Not Going Out festive special, as Lee attempts to create the perfect Christmas for Lucy by inviting her parents to join the two of them and Daisy in a snug old house in the country which used to belong to his dear dead aunt.
But the Christmas spirit is in short supply when Lucy discovers the house has not been lived in for years and there appears to be a spooky presence.
Whatever the turmoil for Lee and Lucy, fans will be glad to see the hit comedy back on screen, and overjoyed to learn a seventh series will air next year.
"We're doing a Christmas special," says Lee, "then another series, then another Christmas special - and then I'm having a breakdown!"
All good news for a show which Sally admits, when she got the call to audition for Lucy, she'd never even heard of.
"I'm shocking," she says, "I never know who anyone is, or what is going on.
"I'm really bad at keeping up with it all, so I hadn't seen the show. I didn't even know who Lee Mack was, actually!"
After six years, she should now.
