GARDENERS were able to show off their greenfingered talents at the weekend with an annual show.
The Flower and Vegetable Show, organised by the Leek Allotment Holders and Gardeners Association, took place at St Paul's Church Centre in Novi Lane, Leek, on Saturday.
The event, which included Leek Floral Art, had lots of different flower and vegetable classes and hosted a raffle, auction, tombola and refreshments.
Leek Town Mayor John Fisher attended the event to hand out the prizes, trophies and certificates.
Co-organiser Robert Tatton said: "Entries were up from last year which could be due to the better weather we have had this year. The judge Wilf McCrady, who is a member of the National Vegetable Society, said that it was one of the best shows of its size that he has judged for a long time."
The Leek Allotment Holders and Gardeners Association’s Annual Show has been running in the town for more than 40 years and Robert, along with his wife Gaynor, have been organising it for the past eight years.
Robert added: "It's a good event for gardeners to showcase their talents. It is also a good social event for the allotment holders as the allotments in Leek are quite spread out."
