Mark Carney, Governor of the Bank of England, talked a few weeks ago about the continued dangers of "City greed and growing inequality... with bankers in a 'heads-I-win, tails-you-lose bubble...'"

This week we learn of the extraordinary fund-raising prize organised by the Conservative Party, where a game of tennis with David Cameron and Boris Johnson was 'sold' for £160,000 to the banker wife of a former minister in Vladimer Putin's government.
