The Annual Ecumenical Remembrance Day Parade and Church Service for the two villages of Forsbrook and Blythe Bridge also took place on Sunday.
The parade, which saw participants from both villages, assembled at Blythe Bridge and Forsbrook Village Hall, Uttoxeter Road, Blythe Bridge and then marched to the war memorial where the Act of Remembrance began with the laying of wreaths, followed by a two minutes silence at 11am.
The parade them went to the Parish Church of St Peter’s for a Service of Remembrance.
After the service the parade reformed to march back to the Village Hall where refreshments were provided by Forsbrook Parish Council which organised the day's proceedings.
Christine Snape, Clerk to Forsbrook Parish Council, told the Cheadle Post & Times: “It was an absolutely fantastic day with lots of people from both villages and even further afield turning up to support the day.
“The parade was larger than in previous years which we think was down to the good weather on Sunday.
“The church was also packed to the rafters making it a brilliant day. We would like to thank everyone for supporting this year's Remembrance.”
