LEEK Town girls under-14s were given a taste of big time when they took part in the FA Girls Football day at St George's Park, Burton upon Trent.
The girls had the chance to play on the same pitches on which the England teams train.
It was part of a day of activities supported by Staffordshire FA to promote women's football.
Leek team spokesman Chris Hesketh said: "It was a great day, which included interactive skills workshops and a five-a-side tournament."
Staffordshire FA chairman Mike Stokes said: "Events like this are very important in getting girls involved in football.
"This is a joint venture between the FA, Staffordshire FA, Continental and St George's Park and it's been well supported and will encourage girls to stay in the sport."
Eight different under-14s teams from across Staffordshire competed in the five-a-side tournament.
The Leek girls also met and played with Sky TV football freestyler Charlotte Lade, together with Chloe Jones and Katie Wilkinson from Aston Villa Ladies, who play in the Women's Super League.
Leek Town girls under-14s are currently recruiting ahead of the new county league season, which starts next month.
