A FESTIVE musical with a difference is currently showing at the region's theatre-in-the-round.
It's set to be non-stop festive fun at the New Vic Theatre this Christmas as Uncle Eric's Murder at Christmas takes centre-stage.
Eric, Madge and their gang of musical misfits have returned to the theatre-in-the-round for fabulous frolics, side-splitting comedy and 60s music galore until Saturday, December 14.
Eric's had a brilliant idea – he's going to join the local amateur dramatic society.
There are lots of available women, and he will be perfect as the detective in their new murder mystery.
But jealousy, petty rivalries and personal grudges mean that things start turning nasty. And then the worst imaginable thing happens – Madge turns up! Oh, and there's a murder.
Tickets, priced from £15 to £21, are available from the New Vic Box Office on 01782 717962 or online at www.newvictheatre.org.uk.
Also at the New Vic this Christmas is The Hundred and One Dalmatians by Dodie Smith.
Adapted and directed by Theresa Heskins, the show is running at The New Vic until Saturday, February 1, 2014. Tickets are priced at £14 to £21, with a family-of-four ticket for £60.
Brought to the stage by the brilliant team of directors, designers and composers behind our huge Christmas hits Alice in Wonderland and A Christmas Carol.
When Perdita and Pongo's puppies go missing, they set off on a daring rescue mission – helped by all the dogs in England! How is cold-hearted Cruella de Vil involved? Will they be in time to save their pups? Or have they bitten off more than they can chew?
Fast-moving and ingeniously staged, this magical family show is filled with stunning costumes, dance routines and original Swing music played live on stage.
